Job summary

Axle Energy in London is seeking an Energy Analyst to expand market analytics and model wholesale and ancillary power markets across countries to forecast revenue. You will test strategies for battery cycling and load shifting of EV chargers in different markets.

You will collaborate cross-functionally, crunch numbers in Python/SQL, and translate data into actionable commercial insights, helping shape high-impact energy-market strategies in a fast-growing, decarbonising company.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical chops (Python, SQL, spreadsheets), and are highly quantitative.
• Exceptional communication & the ability to turn data into actionable commercial insights.
• Comfort moving fast & making decisions in an evolving environment.
• Knowledge of electricity markets - experience across multiple geographies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Building models of wholesale and ancillary power markets in different countries to predict revenue.
• Building and evaluating different strategies for cycling a battery or load-shifting an EV charger in different countries.
• Diving into the nitty gritty of power markets to understand how trading, compensation, penalties, and cash flow works.
• Jumping on the phone with grid operators around the world to validate hypotheses and make sense of data.
