Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Greenspace Technical Officer to support environmental volunteering and community food growing across Edinburgh. Working with volunteers, community groups, and partners, you will help deliver grant programmes and the Right to Grow policy while navigating local authority processes.

You will collaborate with the ranger service and cross-department teams to deliver projects that improve our parks and open spaces in line with the Edinburgh 2050 Thriving

Qualifications

• Experience in greenspaces sector.
• Project management skills.
• Experience developing processes and procedures.
• Experience delivering community growing and/or nature conservation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead in supporting the public, Friends of Parks groups and community groups to engage with environmental volunteering and community food growing.
• Deliver the Right to Grow policy, set up and administer community greenspace and food growing grants.
• Work with volunteers to roll out the Volunteer Action Plan and support community-led In Bloom schemes.
