Job description

Service: Parks and Streetscene Development

Location: Hybrid

Contract: Fixed-term (maternity cover)

We’re looking for a Greenspace Officer to help communities across Salford enjoy, understand and care for their local environment. You’ll work with residents, schools, volunteers and partners to coordinate activities, support community groups, promote events and help people connect with nature.

The role is people-focused, with an emphasis on planning, engagement, communication and partnership working. You’ll also support monitoring, report writing, evaluation and benchmarking to help us understand the impact of our work.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has experience of community engagement or environmental programmes.
  • Can build strong relationships and support volunteers and groups.
  • Is organised, confident with admin and able to produce clear reports.
  • Has knowledge of the natural environment and good communication skills.
  • Is positive, reliable and committed to inclusive community work.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
