Delta Hotel By Marriott Tudor Park Country Club in Thurnham, England, invites applications for a Greenkeeping Apprentice to learn essential turf maintenance skills while working toward a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Join our Grounds Team to maintain greens, tees, fairways and surrounds; you’ll gain hands-on experience with professional staff, health and safety protocols, and club-approved training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and preparation of greens, tees, fairways and bunkers.
• Operate and maintain turf equipment under supervision.
• Mow, strim, edge and perform general landscaping duties.
• Support course setup for daily play and tournaments.
• Assist with irrigation, drainage and turf care programmes.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
• Follow health and safety procedures and work with the team to develop skills.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Greenkeeping Apprentice to join our team at Delta Hotel By Marriott Tudor Park Country Club. This is an exciting opportunity to learn the skills required to maintain a high-quality golf course while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

As part of our Grounds Team, you will help ensure our golf course and surrounding resort grounds are presented to the highest standards for members, guests, hotel visitors, and golf societies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance and preparation of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers.
• Operate and maintain a range of turf management equipment under supervision.
• Carry out mowing, strimming, edging, and general landscaping duties.
• Support course set-up for daily play and tournaments.
• Assist with irrigation, drainage, and turf care programmes.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
• Learn and follow all health and safety procedures.
• Work closely with the Head Greenkeeper and wider grounds team to develop practical greenkeeping skills.

What We’re Looking For

Hours:

This full-time apprenticeship combines hands-on work with structured study, allowing you to gain valuable qualifications while building practical experience. The role is 40 hours per week and includes early starts, with some weekend and bank holiday working required.
