Job summary

Elmbridge Council is seeking a Green Spaces Manager to lead the strategic development and day-to-day operation of the council’s parks, cemeteries, allotments and related green spaces from the High Street, Esher. The role is initially a temporary contract with potential for extension or permanent appointment for the right candidate, and operates on a hybrid working basis.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, oversee revenue/capital budgets, and deliver the circa £5 million capital programme

Qualifications

• Experience managing landscape and grounds maintenance contracts.
• Significant leadership experience in multi-disciplinary public/private sectors.
• Experience controlling revenue and capital budgets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management and strategic development of Green Spaces services.
• Manage development of services to engage the community.
• Support Head of Leisure in project management and capital programme delivery (~£5m).
• Review contract documents and tender moderation.
• Monitor contract performance and partner with contractor to evolve services.
