Job summary

Activate Learning is seeking a Green Skills Manager to lead the design and delivery of green skills programmes and apprenticeships within our Construction and Engineering team.

You will teach, assess, and support Property Maintenance Operative apprentices, ensuring learners gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed for successful careers in the built environment. This role focuses on sustainability, retrofit, energy efficiency, and net-zero priorities.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
  • Recognised teaching, assessing, and IQA qualifications with practical teaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of green skills bootcamps and apprenticeship programmes.
  • Teach, assess, and support Property Maintenance Operative apprentices to achieve outstanding outcomes.

About the role as a Green Skills Manager

Are you passionate about sustainability, skills development, and shaping the future workforce?

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Green Skills Manager to join our Construction and Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of innovative green skills programmes that support the UK's transition to a low-carbon, sustainable economy.

As Green Skills Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of industry-focused training programmes, including green skills bootcamps and apprenticeship provision, aligned to sustainability, retrofit, energy efficiency, and net‑zero priorities. Working closely with employers and industry partners, you will ensure our curriculum remains relevant, responsive, and focused on developing the skills needed for the future.

You will also teach, assess, and support Property Maintenance Operative apprentices, helping learners achieve their full potential and develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for successful careers within the construction and built environment sector.

What You'll Bring
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Recognised teaching, assessing, and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualifications, together with practical teaching experience.
  • A strong understanding of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
  • Proven management or leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Experience of using technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
  • A passion for sustainability, green skills, and developing the workforce of the future.
