Job summary

Activate Learning is seeking an experienced landscaping professional to deliver practical hard landscaping and construction skills within our Landbased provision.

The role will focus on bricklaying, paving, slab laying, fencing, groundwork and related activities, while also supporting learners with underpinning theory to prepare them for progression into landscaping and the wider built environment industries.

Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or significant industry experience.
  • While we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants with the ability to inspire learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification.
  • Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point, which could be discussed at interview.

About the role

About the role: Landscaping TeacherActivate Learning is seeking an experienced industry professional to support the delivery of Landscape programmes on a casual basis within our Landbased provision. The role will primarily focus on the delivery of technical hard landscaping and construction skills, including bricklaying, paving, slab laying, fencing, groundwork and related activities within the landscaping sector. Alongside practical delivery, you may also support learners in developing the underpinning theory, technical knowledge and industry best practice that support these skills. Working alongside our teaching and technical teams, you will help deliver engaging, industry-relevant learning experiences that prepare students for progression into the landscaping, construction and wider built environment industries. This flexible, casual role would suit an experienced hard landscaper, construction professional, bricklayer or other skilled tradesperson looking to share their expertise with the next generation. As this is a casual position, there are no fixed timetabled hours. Hours will be offered, depending on learner numbers, programme requirements and courses running throughout the year.

What do you need to be successful as a Landscaping Teacher at Activate Learning?
