Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Governance, Risk and Control Manager on a 10-month secondment to lead and embed robust governance, risk and compliance across the first line.

You will support the Head of Group Governance, Risk and Control Services and senior managers, delivering both recurring activities and time-bound initiatives across Risk Reporting, Controls, Consumer Duty and related areas. Hybrid working across Swindon, London or Glasgow offices applies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver governance, risk and control activities across the first line.
• Support the Head of Group Governance, Risk and Control Services and Senior Managers in delivering the annual plan, strengthening compliance with the Group Risk Management Framework and enhancing maturity of first-line risk, control and compliance management.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into clear delivery plans and measurable outcomes, applying structured delivery disciplines to meet timescales, budgets and quality expectations.
• Act as subject matter expert on the Group Risk Management Framework and provide guidance to risk practitioners and senior stakeholders.
• Work across the three lines of defence and support responses to regulatory reviews, enquiries and thematic activity.
