Job summary

England Athletics is seeking a Grants Officer to support the administration, coordination and delivery of grant programmes that benefit athletics and running communities. Working within the Finance team, you will help ensure programmes are delivered effectively, compliantly and with maximum impact.

The role reports to the Head of Finance and involves managing applications, approvals and reporting, with opportunities for collaboration across departments and occasional travel from home.

Responsibilities

• Grant Programme Management: Lead the administration and operational delivery of designated grant programmes, coordinating application, assessment, moderation and award processes while ensuring programmes are delivered against agreed timelines and milestones.
• Grants Administration & Compliance: Manage grant applications, reporting, evaluation and compliance tracking, ensuring all funding activity meets governance requirements and funding conditions.
• Organisation-wide Grant Coordination: Maintain a central register of grant awards, applications, reporting deadlines and funding commitments, acting as a key point of coordination across departments.
• Governance and Risk: Support the preparation of reports for the Executive Leadership Team, Board and Committees, maintain grant management procedures and monitor compliance with grant terms and conditions.
• Performance and Impact Reporting: Coordinate impact measurement and outcome reporting across funded projects, develop performance dashboards and gather stories that demonstrate the value and impact of grant awards.
• Financial Administration: Assist with budget tracking, financial administration and reporting, ensuring accurate monitoring of funding activity and commitments.
• External Funding Intelligence: Monitor funding opportunities and support departments in developing future funding applications and partnerships.
