Job summary

Westminster Foundation is seeking a Grants Officer to support grant programmes across its key geographical areas, managing enquiries, eligibility checks and due diligence. You will prepare grant documentation, coordinate payments and support panels, while maintaining accurate records in Salesforce.

You will join a busy team, bring strong written communication and a collaborative approach, and help improve grantmaking processes in a values-driven charity focused on children and families in

Qualifications

  • Experience in grantmaking and grant management within charity/public/funding sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the grant lifecycle and assessment processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience conducting proportionate due diligence and review of applications.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of grant programmes across Westminster Foundation's key geographical areas.
  • Manage applicant enquiries and guidance throughout the application process.
  • Review funding applications, perform eligibility checks and due diligence.
  • Prepare grant documentation, coordinate payments and support grants panels.
  • Monitor grant progress, reporting and compliance, escalating risks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate grant records and data within Salesforce.
  • Support delivery of additional grant programmes and represent the Foundation at events.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of grantmaking processes, systems and data quality.

About the role

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the delivery of grant programmes across Westminster Foundation's key geographical areas.
  • Manage applicant enquiries and provide guidance throughout the application process.
  • Review funding applications, carrying out eligibility checks and proportionate due diligence.
  • Prepare grant documentation, coordinate payments and support grants panels.
  • Monitor grant progress, reporting and compliance, identifying and escalating any risks or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate grant records and data within Salesforce.
  • Support the delivery of additional grant programmes and represent the Foundation at relevant events when required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of grantmaking processes, systems and data quality.
About you

We are looking for a Grants Officer, with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in grantmaking, grant management or a similar role within the charity, public or funding sector.
  • A strong understanding of the grant lifecycle and grant assessment processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Sound judgement and experience of conducting proportionate due diligence and application reviews.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM or database systems, ideally Salesforce, and confidence using Microsoft Office.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to working in a busy team environment.
  • An understanding of the charity sector and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

It would also be desirable to have:

  • Experience working for a grantmaking foundation or funder.
  • Experience supporting grants panels, impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience improving processes, systems or operational ways of working.
