Job summary

Sweco is recruiting for the Autumn 2027 cohort of its Early Careers Graduate Scheme in the UK. The Graduate Process Engineer role sits within the Water & Asset Management Division, focusing on water treatment and infrastructure, with opportunities to work with engineers across disciplines.

The two-year program blends virtual and face-to-face learning, offers a permanent position with a competitive package, and includes 25 days holiday and strong development support.

Qualifications

• Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for.
• Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
• Are confident using Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.
• Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future. This is a permanent role, and we’re looking for candidates who can grow their careers with Sweco without a time limit.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with process design, process calculations, mass balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation drawings, sketches and reports.
• Supporting hazard studies, including HAZOP, HAZID, What-If and LOPA studies, as appropriate to the project.
• Contributing to DSEAR assessments, including the identification of hazardous substances, explosive atmospheres, zoning requirements and appropriate control measures.
• Supporting the preparation and review of COSHH assessments, hazardous substance registers and associated control measures.
• Providing day to day technical input as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
• Ensuring your design output is completed in accordance with the scope of works, timescales and budgets.
• Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements and added value to the client.
