Job summary

AECOM in Belfast is seeking a Graduate Water Engineering Process / Chemical professional to join our water team. You will work on a challenging mix of wastewater and water projects, developing process designs, performing calculations, and supporting commissioning activities.

You will develop expertise in treatment technologies, join a global infrastructure firm, and benefit from hybrid work arrangements and a structured early career program aimed at future accreditation as a Chartered Engineer.

Qualifications

• Degree level education in chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for process engineering.
• Willingness to travel to project sites is desirable.
• Excellent report writing, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ambition to pursue Chartered Engineer status with IChemE or CIWEM.

Responsibilities

• Undertake process flow diagrams and mass balance calculations.
• Develop and complete process engineering calculations, e.g., sizing of unit operations.
• Undertake surveys and asset assessments at sites.
• Feasibility and optioneering studies for wastewater processes.
• Support HAZOP meetings and technical documentation.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure design aligns with standards and QA procedures.
• Provide process commissioning support to site teams.
