Job summary

Arup is a global consultancy offering advisory and technical expertise across numerous disciplines. The Water and Flood Risk team helps clients plan and deliver resilient infrastructure against flooding and climate challenges.

As a graduate in our Water and Flood Risk group, you’ll work on UK projects, gain exposure to GIS, modelling tools, and multidisciplinary collaboration, while developing both technical and professional skills for a sustainable future.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Maritime or Structural Engineering.
Strong analytical and numerical data skills.
Experience with flood risk assessment or water-related projects is advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365.
Experience with hydraulic modelling tools or AutoCAD/Civil 3D; programming skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Carry out flood risk, drainage and water engineering assessments and design tasks.
Develop engineering options, feasibility studies and business cases for projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environment and planning.
Engage with regulators, local authorities and stakeholders as needed.
Use GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks to analyse data and support design.
