Graduate Town Planner

Location: Scotland - offices in Galashiels and Edinburgh

Are you a recent graduate in Town Planning or a related discipline looking to kick-start your career with a well-established and highly respected planning consultancy? We're partnering with a dynamic and growing planning practice that's looking to add a motivated Graduate Town Planner to their friendly and collaborative team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a consultancy with a strong track record across a diverse range of projects, from strategic land promotion and residential schemes to rural development and renewable energy. With offices based in both Galashiels and Edinburgh, this role offers flexibility, a supportive environment, and real scope for professional growth.

What you'll be doing:

1. Supporting senior planners on a wide range of planning applications, appeals, and policy work
2. Preparing planning appraisals, reports, and statements
3. Engaging with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
4. Conducting site visits and contributing to planning strategy discussions
5. Working across a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, rural, and energy projects

What we're looking for:

• A degree (or master's) in Town Planning or a closely related field
• Ideally some work experience (placement or consultancy exposure), though not essential
• A strong understanding of the UK planning system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive attitude and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in consultancy planning
• A full UK driving licence
