Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEN School)

An "Outstanding" Ofsted-rated all-through SEN School in Hackney is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a term-time agency role, providing crucial 1:1 support for students across the school. This position requires a dedicated individual to foster consistent daily learning routines, with a strong interest in working with children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement personalised learning strategies tailored to the individual needs of the student.
  2. Adapt and create learning resources to ensure accessibility and engagement.
  3. Monitor and record student progress, reporting observations to the class teacher.
  4. Assist with lesson planning and preparation, collaborating with teaching staff.
  5. Provide targeted support to lower academic ability groups within the class.
  6. Offer general classroom assistance, ensuring a productive learning environment.
  7. Manage challenging behaviour effectively, promoting positive social interaction.
  8. Ensure the student's safety and well-being, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  1. Reference-able experience in a similar role, ideally within a school or care setting.
  2. A driven and enthusiastic approach to education.
  3. Prior experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  4. In-depth knowledge of child safeguarding and protection procedures.
  5. Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum (advantageous).
  6. Degree in relevant subjects such as Early Years, Education, Psychology, or artistic disciplines.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Fluent in English.
