Teaching Assistant, Drama or Art Graduate

Join a vibrant primary school in Havering as a full-time Teaching Assistant starting in September 2024. We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic graduates with a background in drama or art to support their dynamic teaching team and bring a fresh, creative approach to the classroom.

About the Role:

  • As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the creative talents of our students. You will work closely with teachers to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate drama and art, helping to create an inspiring learning environment.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and delivering creative lessons that integrate drama and art into the curriculum.
  • Support individual students and small groups in their learning activities.
  • Foster a love for the arts and encourage self-expression among students.
  • Help organize and facilitate school productions, art projects, and other creative events.
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

What We're Looking For:

  • Recent graduates with a degree in Drama, Art, or a related field.
  • A passion for working with children and a desire to inspire creativity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take initiative.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting student needs.
  • Previous experience working with children (voluntary or paid).
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
  • Available 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).
