Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking a Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our human-centric, planet-conscious engineering consultancy. You will work on live projects from day one across healthcare, hotels, retail and residential sectors, developing energy strategies and contributing to sustainability reporting.

You will undertake energy modelling, environmental assessments, and whole-life carbon analyses while benefiting from structured career paths, formal training, and mentorship to pursue

Qualifications

• Degree with 2:1 or above in Engineering, Architecture, or Built Environment.
• Understanding of sustainability governance, reporting, and strategies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Friendly, ambitious, confident, flexible and resilient.

Responsibilities

• Working on live projects from day one – our exciting projects.
• In a variety of sectors from healthcare to hotels, retail to residential.
• Undertaking building performance simulation and energy related workstreams using modelling approaches.
• Developing energy strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on developments.
• Assisting in the delivery of environmental assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc) from early design stages through to completion.
• Developing an understanding and knowledge of whole life carbon reporting to support clients Net Zero Carbon strategies.
• Undertaking site surveys.
• Researching ground-breaking technologies.
• Continuous CPD and learning opportunities.
• Supporting the development of holistic Sustainability Strategies, where necessary.
