Job summary

The Port of London Authority (PLA) is seeking a Graduate Surveyor to support the Senior Surveyor and Head of Property in managing a diverse portfolio of land and river-based assets. Tasks include inspections, reporting, valuations, and liaising with tenants and internal teams as you work toward Chartership.

You will be part of a supportive Estates Department, with opportunities for professional development and hands-on experience across property management, budgeting, and lease work.

Qualifications

• 1st or 2nd class degree in a property-related subject accredited by RICS or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive approach with initiative and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Surveyor and Head of Estates with day-to-day property management tasks.
• Attend meetings and liaise with tenants, licensees, and internal teams such as Legal, Finance and Planning.
• Conduct site inspections, prepare inspection notes, and measure facilities.
• Assist with basic valuations, property reports, and licence agreements.
• Maintain and organise property documentation with accurate records.
• Support budgeting, rental reviews and billing processes.
• Create and manage spreadsheets for property revenue and expenditure.
• Take ownership of tasks and assist with ad-hoc duties.
• A good 1st or 2nd class degree in a property-related subject accredited by RICS or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication, liaising with stakeholders.
• A keen eye for detail and an organized approach to managing tasks.
• Proactive, learn toward Chartered Surveyor, adapt to change, team player.
• Knowledge of managing portfolios involving land and river-based assets.
