Job summary

Runnymede Borough Council is recruiting a Graduate Operational Investment Surveyor to support the management of the Council’s portfolio and contribute to the estate strategy. The role involves maintaining asset records, inspections, and working with multiple teams to deliver a high-quality Corporate Landlord service.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in surveying (or related discipline), a willingness to pursue APC/RICS, and strong communication and numeracy skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in surveying or a related discipline is required.
• Commitment to APC or starting towards RICS membership.
• Awareness of RICS standards and the Red Book.
• Awareness of financial terminology and standard practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Estates Surveyor in day-to-day management of the Council’s operational and investment property portfolio.
• Maintain asset records and ensure database and registers are audit-ready.
• Carry out regular property inspections and support compliance across the estate.
• Collaborate with procurement, facilities management, Assurance & Risk, and Building Operations to deliver a Corporate Landlord service.
• Assist with valuations, disposals, and acquisitions, including documentation and liaising with solicitors.
• Aid performance monitoring across the estate, including arrears schedules and service charge budgets.
• Develop APC progress and professional skills during progression.
