Job summary

Step into Teaching is seeking a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant for a highly regarded primary school in Par, Cornwall. You will support students with Special Educational Needs, gain hands-on classroom experience, and prepare for teacher training.

Ideal for graduates (2:2 or above) who are friendly, enthusiastic and committed to inclusion. Full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with benefits including canteen, free parking and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

  • A graduate with genuine passion for supporting students with learning difficulties.
  • Previous experience with young people is preferred but not essential.
  • Friendly, confident and enthusiastic personality with commitment to inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with personal needs and implement related programmes.
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships to support emotional and academic growth.

The Opportunity:
  • SEN Learning Support Assistant
  • £500 - £530 per week(term-time only)
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday, for the full academic year
  • Perfect for graduateslooking to gain classroom experience before teacher training

What We’re Looking For:

  • agraduate or soon to be graduate(2:2 or above), with a genuine passion for supporting students with learning difficulties
  • Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties (preferred but not essential)
  • Friendly, confident, and enthusiastic personality
  • Commitment toinclusionandequal opportunities
  • Ability to relate to young people, with an understanding of their needs
  • Ability to workeffectively as part of a team
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with theirpersonal needsand implement related programmes (you’ll need to be comfortable with personal care tasks)
  • Provide support forindividual studentsinside and outside the classroom to ensure they fully participate in activities
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students, supporting their emotional and academic growth
  • Maintain high expectations that every student will makesustained progressboth academically and personally
  • Support students to beready for the next steps in their learningand to contribute confidently to classroom activities
