An inclusive and forward-thinking SEN primary school in Liverpool is looking for a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. This long-term opportunity will begin in October 2026 and run throughout the full academic year initially.
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils aged 4–11 who have a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, and social or emotional challenges.
You’ll provide personalised 1:1 support, contribute to small-group intervention sessions, and work alongside class teachers to adapt activities, resources, and learning approaches so that every pupil has the opportunity to engage and make progress.
You’ll become an important part of the school’s wider support team, helping pupils develop academically while also encouraging their confidence, communication, independence, and social development.
This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is ideal for graduates who want to gain meaningful, long-term experience within SEN education before progressing into teacher training or specialist support roles. You’ll gain paid, school-based experience while developing a deeper understanding of individual needs and the strategies used to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
With ongoing support and guidance from experienced SEN professionals, the role provides an excellent foundation for graduates considering future careers in teaching, SEN education, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or other child-focused and allied professions.
If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to take your first steps towards a rewarding career supporting children with additional needs, this could be the opportunity for you.
