Job summary

Mott MacDonald, a global consultancy, invites graduates to begin their career in structural engineering. You will work with experienced engineers across buildings and civil infrastructure, contributing from feasibility through to construction support and site inspections.

You’ll gain experience across design stages, collaborate with multiple disciplines, and develop skills in sustainable design and digital engineering with a mentor-supported three-year development programme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected; eligible for graduate intake.
• Degrees listed: Civil, Structural, or related engineering fields with civil/structural content.
• Masters may be essential for some opportunities, per application form.
• UK immigration: eligible for routes not requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of structural solutions for buildings and infrastructure.
• Prepare structural calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
• Develop conceptual design options and feasibility studies.
• Undertake detailed design using reinforced concrete and steelwork.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and architectural domains.
• Support site visits, surveys, and construction activities.
• Contribute to sustainable design, carbon reduction and resilience assessments.
• Use digital engineering and BIM tools to support delivery.
