Job summary

Unilever is seeking a Graduate Sensory Specialist to join our fast-paced Research & Development environment at the Port Sunlight facility in Wirral. This full-time temporary role is for six months, with a 37.5-hour week and compensation up to £36,000 depending on experience.

You will work with experienced sensory scientists to plan and deliver sensory studies and human panel testing, gaining practical industry exposure within a global FMCG business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant scientific subject with sensory or consumer research exposure.
  • Understanding of research methods, study design, data analysis or scientific testing.
  • Good analytical skills and confidence working with data.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and coordination of sensory studies and human panel testing.
  • Help organise testing schedules, participants, materials and study logistics.
  • Support training and coordination of sensory panellists.
  • Follow procedures to ensure studies are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Check and maintain sensory study data.
  • Assist with analysis and interpretation of sensory and consumer research results.
  • Prepare clear reports and presentations summarising study findings.
  • Collaborate with sensory scientists, panellists, researchers, and product teams.
  • Support the introduction of new sensory methods, tools and processes.
