A forward-thinking and inclusive school in Hatfield is seeking a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team this September. This role is ideal for someone who is considering teacher training, educational psychology, or working with vulnerable children and young people.

About the Role – Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant

As a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of daily learning and emotional support for pupils with a range of additional needs. Your duties will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with learning difficulties, speech and language challenges, or social-emotional needs
  • Working closely with class teachers to adapt resources and deliver personalised support
  • Assisting with classroom routines, behaviour regulation, and helping students stay engaged
  • Observing and tracking student progress, and supporting interventions as needed
  • Becoming a trusted adult who helps students feel safe, motivated, and understood

What We’re Looking For - Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a 2:1 or above in a relevant subject (Psychology, Education, English, etc.)
  • Have experience working with children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, summer schools, youth programmes)
  • Are empathetic, proactive, and ready to learn from skilled professionals
  • Are considering a career in education, SEN, psychology, therapy, or social care
