Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Graduate Learning & Behaviour Mentor in Manchester to support pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist school. You will work with students individually and in small groups to boost engagement and learning outcomes.

The role is full-time from September, with training and ongoing support. A degree in a relevant field is desirable, and there are clear progression paths into teaching, psychology, or youth support.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, or a related subject is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A patient, adaptable and compassionate approach.
  • Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Establish positive relationships that promote trust and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help pupils develop coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
  • Encourage positive behaviour through guidance and reinforcement.
  • Assist teaching staff with personalised learning activities and interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to meet individual student needs.
  • Promote independence, resilience, confidence, and social development.

Education

Degree in Psychology/Education/Criminology/Sociology or related subject
