Graduate Science Trainee Teacher– Job Role
As a Graduate Science Trainee Teacher, you will be fully immersed in the life of a high-performing science department from the start. This is a unique opportunity to learn on the job while receiving structured support and mentorship from experienced educators.
Your key responsibilities as a Graduate Science Trainee Teacher will include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of exciting and engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5)
- Delivering targeted 1:1 support and small group interventions to help students who need additional challenge or guidance
- Developing your own classroom presence by leading activities under the guidance of qualified teachers
- Using assessment data to identify learning gaps and help address these through tailored support
Graduate Science Trainee Teacher– Candidate Specification
We are looking for an exceptional Graduate Science Trainee Teacher who:
- Holds (or is on track for) a 2:1 or above in a Science-related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field) from a Rusell Group University
- Has demonstrable experience working with young people, whether in a classroom, tutoring centre, outreach programme, summer school, or similar
- Has a genuine passion for education and an ambition to build a long-term career in teaching
- Possesses excellent communication skills, confidence, and resilience
- Is enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to immerse themselves in the daily life of a busy, forward-thinking secondary school
