Location: Hounslow, West London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

About the Role:

A highly regarded and inclusive secondary school in West London is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Science graduate to join their team as a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is ideal for aspiring Science teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience in a classroom environment before committing to formal teacher training.

You will support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working closely with Science teachers to provide small group and 1:1 academic interventions. You’ll assist in practical lessons, help reinforce key concepts, and contribute to the academic progress of pupils across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of engaging Science lessons and practical activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group academic support to underperforming or high-potential students
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and student engagement
  • Prepare materials, assist with experiments, and reinforce learning objectives
  • Work alongside a passionate Science department and gain insights into effective teaching methods

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent Science graduate (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field) with a 2:1 or above
  • Strong communication skills and an interest in secondary education
  • Previous experience tutoring or working with young people (preferred but not essential)
  • Passionate about Science and making the subject accessible and exciting
  • Committed to a full-time role for the academic year
