Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK, formerly Hanson UK, is expanding its Road Surfacing Division and inviting applications for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor role in Chipping Sodbury. Qualifications

• Graduated in 2026 or graduating in 2027, expect to achieve a 2:1 in Quantity Surveying.
• British citizenship or UK settled status.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee measurement, valuation, payment, and reporting for allocated contracts.
• Ensure timely application and collection of revenue in accordance with contract terms.
• Monitor customer payments, including maintenance periods and staged payments.
• Assist the Commercial department with pre-contract and tender activities.
• Negotiate and agree terms and conditions for contracts and sub-contracts, liaising with legal advisors as needed.
• Participate in the procurement process and engagement of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Define responsibilities and establish terms and conditions for subcontractor agreements.
• Prepare and agree subcontractor payment certificates.
• Establish financial control systems for contract execution and manage revenue, cost, cash collection, and reporting.
• Produce financial and commercial reports and forecasts for the Managing QS and other stakeholders.
• Report any unsafe practices observed during site visits.
