Job summary

Rogers McHugh are recruiting a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their Hull office, focusing on commercial office fit out and refurbishment projects valued from £200,000 to £5 million. This entry role is designed for a recent Quantity Surveying graduate eager to apply academic learning in a practical setting.

You will work alongside experienced professionals, develop skills in procurement, cost reporting and subcontractor management, and progress towards managing your own commercial packages as

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related subject.
• Genuine interest in commercial construction, office fit-out and refurbishment.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational abilities; willingness to learn.
• Full UK driving licence would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of office fit‑out and refurbishment projects.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, tender enquiries and package comparisons.
• Help to prepare valuations and cost reports.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure.
• Support with variations, change control and project forecasts.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers; assist with payments and final accounts.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to manage profitability.
• Learn and understand contracts, procurement and commercial management.
