Job summary

Runnymede Borough Council is seeking an Estates Surveyor to shape how the Council manages, values, and extracts value from its diverse property portfolio across operational and investment assets.

You will support valuations, lease events, rent reviews, and estate management, with MRICS required, while working with Finance, Legal and Facilities teams. Hybrid working 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification and ongoing professional development.
• Degree in surveying or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of property law and landlord/tenant practice.
• Experience managing a mixed property portfolio and lease events.
• Experience in valuations in line with the RICS Red Book.

Responsibilities

• Deliver valuations, estate management advice and landlord/tenant functions across operational and investment portfolio.
• Manage lease renewals, rent reviews, new lettings, assignments and surrenders.
• Maintain Concerto, MSCI, asset registers and data accuracy.
• Prepare clear, professional reports for senior managers, committees and Councillors.
• Support budgeting and financial planning for a portfolio generating up to £2m per annum.
• Collaborate with Facilities Management, Building Operations, Procurement, Legal and Finance teams.
