Job summary

Galliford Try seeks a Graduate Project Manager for 2027, based in Oxfordshire or West London with travel across locations. The two-year development programme blends hands-on site experience with design, pre-construction and handover work, and offers professional qualifications funding.

You will start in September 2027, with potential earlier start dates, and may travel or stay away from home as projects require. BPSS clearance is a prerequisite before employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate with demonstrable interest in construction management or civil engineering.
• Willingness to learn and develop professional qualifications during the programme.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and to obtain BPSS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management and coordination of SEMD projects.
• Assist with project planning, programme development and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate with internal teams, Thames Water reps, designers and the wider supply chain.
• Support development of SEMD/security designs across civils, structural, electrical and security systems.
• Attend design reviews, meetings, site visits and progress reviews.
• Assist with identifying and managing project risks, constraints and opportunities.
• Support procurement activities including quotations and subcontractor proposals.
• Develop understanding of project commercial management: budgets, forecasts, payments, variations.
• Gain practical experience of contractual processes and project correspondence.
• Support RFIs/TQs, design information and documentation.
• Undertake regular site visits for progress, quality, safety and coordination.
• Assist with commissioning, handover and close-out.
• Ensure activities align with Galliford Try procedures, Thames Water requirements and standards.
• Build effective relationships with client, supply chain, designers and stakeholders.
