Galliford Try Group invites applications for its Graduate Design Manager role as part of the UK’s top-rated construction and civil engineering graduate programme. The two-year programme runs alongside a permanent role, offering structured modules, mentorship, and pathways to professional qualifications.

You will work under the Design Manager, helping to manage design processes, produce drawings and solutions, and support meetings while gaining hands-on experience in blue-chip projects.

What will you be doing?

As Graduate Design Manager, you will work alongside the Design Manager, providing support to the Design teams with the management of the design process, in relation to producing drawings and design solutions to meet project specifications and budget.

You will:

• Develop an understanding of the client’s needs in the development of design.
• Support the design process, working with the client and wider design team.
• Ensure design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
• Contribute to Design meetings.
• Organise design meeting and preparing reports in the necessary format as required.
• Maintain project documentation.

This role is available for a September 2027 start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.

As part of the graduate programme you will be expected to work in and around the location advertised, with the possibility for expanding travel to other projects and locations in the future. This may include staying away from home.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must be eligible for and able to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance before commencing employment.

• A starting salary of £31,250

What are we looking for?

We invite applications from graduates who are passionate about the industry and have achieved, or are on track to achieve a Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture / Construction Management / Design (or similar) prior to September 2027.

A full UK driving licence (or currently learning, you will be expected to have obtained a Full UK Driving Licence by 6th September 2027) and the eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction is essential for this role.
