Job Description

Omexom is a brand through which VINCI Energies undertakes its Transmission & Distribution activities. Omexom specialises in the design, supply, installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical infrastructures for electricity utility companies and renewable energy developers throughout the UK and Ireland.

Role Overview

Based in our Scotland office, this role involves assisting in the design, procurement, installation, construction, and commissioning of distribution overhead line networks. After gaining experience and completing a structured training programme, the successful candidate will progress into a Project Management role. The postholder will collaborate with project managers, designers, commercial staff, and operational teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the substation industry and related construction projects.

Over two years, a structured training programme will be provided via external providers and the VINCI Energies UK Academy, covering project management, technical skills, people management, financial and procurement management, HSEQ, business development, and commercial and contractual awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe and efficient delivery of works to high construction standards.
• Support project and programme delivery to meet safety, quality, budget, and time targets.
• Contribute to the commercial success of projects.
• Assist in managing operational staff performance.
• Support tendering processes and bid management.
• Ensure effective communication with customers.
• Assist Project Managers with budget management, cost control, and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare project progress reports for customer review.
• Support HR issues at the site, including disciplinary matters when needed.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and/or MS Project.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with commercial awareness.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Basic financial management understanding.
• Ability to plan works logically and motivate teams/subcontractors.
• Customer-focused decision-making.
• Ability to meet targets and work under pressure.
• Full driving license and transport.

Additional Information

This role requires frequent travel to sites and attendance at project meetings across Ireland and Great Britain.
