Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Graduate Planner to join our expanding team at the Alness office. This role offers an entry point into project planning, working with experienced planners on major energy and infrastructure projects.

You will assist in developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes using industry tools such as Primavera P6, with structured development and on-the-job training to build skills in project controls and infrastructure delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2:2 honours in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Management or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and maintenance of project programmes and schedules.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating project activities across engineering, procurement and construction teams.
  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare programme updates, reports and performance metrics.
  • Learn to use Primavera P6 and other industry tools.
  • Participate in project reviews, planning meetings and site visits.
  • Collaborate to ensure programme information is accurate and up to date.
  • Develop understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques and delivery.

The Role

We are looking for a Graduate Planner to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in project planning, working alongside experienced planners and project professionals on some of the UK's most significant energy and infrastructure projects.

As a Graduate Planner, you will support the development, maintenance and monitoring of project programmes, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule. Through a combination of structured development, formal training and on-the-job experience, you will gain valuable knowledge of project controls, construction planning and infrastructure delivery.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the development and maintenance of project programmes and schedules.

  • Assist with planning and coordinating project activities across engineering, procurement and construction teams.

  • Learn to use industry-standard planning software, including Primavera P6.

  • Develop an understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques and infrastructure project delivery.

  • Build the skills and experience needed to progress towards a professional planning career.

  • This role will be based at our office in Alness, near Inverness.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a minimum 2:2 Honours degree in a relevant discipline such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Management or a related subject.

  • Demonstrate strong organisational and analytical skills.

  • Be confident working with data and problem-solving.
