Job summary

Tarmac is recruiting a Graduate Mechanical Engineer for its Tunstead cement plant in Buxton. You’ll join a 3-year scheme, gaining hands-on experience in cement engineering, manufacturing, and production with development support across the UK & Ireland cluster.

You’ll contribute to plant performance, safety standards, and the integration of new systems while rotating through locations and building core skills for a successful engineering career in construction materials.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Willing to work in different locations across UK and Ireland (and international assignments in the future).

Responsibilities

• Learn your engineering craft and cement engineering basics as part of the development programme.
• Analyse data to optimise plant performance and propose modifications.
• Assist in tracking process parameters and address bottlenecks for improved output and safety.
• Engage in root cause analysis to understand costs and downtime impacts.
• Understand integration of new systems into plant operations.
• Rotate across plants in the UK & Ireland and potentially international assignments.
