Job summary

Step Into Teaching Limited is seeking a Graduate Learning Support Assistant for a college in Birmingham. The role focuses on supporting High Need Learners in 1:1 and small-group settings, fostering independent thinking with empathy and resilience.

The successful graduate will help students overcome barriers to learning, take notes, explain tasks, and serve as the link between students and tutors. Term-time work with a weekly pay of £500–£530 is offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mental health first aid, resilience building, and strategies for supporting students’ personal and academic development.
• Understanding of the challenges students face during their university experience and a passion for supporting their wellbeing.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to High Need Learners in college.
• Take notes, explain tasks and guide students to answer questions independently.
• Act as a link between students and tutors to facilitate learning.
• Offer literacy and numeracy support as needed to assist assignments.
