Are you a patient and enthusiastic individual looking to support students in their learning journey within a secondary school setting?

A secondary partner school of GSL Education in Eastleigh is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their team ASAP or from September 2025. The role offers a competitive salary ranging from £89 to £95 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom by supporting children in small groups, helping them reach their full potential. A permanent contract is available following a successful probation period.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work alongside the class teacher to provide targeted support to students in small group settings. Your role will involve helping pupils understand and complete their classwork, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, and supporting the educational and emotional development of the students you work with.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a productive classroom environment.
  • Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Offer academic and emotional support tailored to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence.
  • Contribute to planning and reviewing pupil progress as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A calm, caring, and flexible approach to supporting children’s learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • A full and updated CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
