Job summary

Marlowe Environmental Services, part of Mitie, is seeking a Graduate Laboratory Technician for our Daventry laboratory to support quality control testing, chemical analysis and project work. Full training will be provided, with a clear development path within our Laboratory Team.

You will perform QC tests on water treatment products, document results, calibrate equipment, and help investigate technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or science with significant chemistry component.
• High attention to detail and methodical approach.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong documentation and recording skills.

Job Overview

• Marlowe Environmental Services (MES) (part of Mitie) has an exciting opportunity to join our Laboratory Team based in Daventry. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations through quality control testing, chemical analysis, technical investigations, and project-based work. This role offers excellent development opportunities, with full training provided.

Main Duties

• Perform quality control testing on a range of water treatment and chemical products.
• Conduct chemical analysis and accurately record and report results.
• Assist with troubleshooting product performance issues and investigating technical challenges.
• Support research, development, and continuous improvement projects.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain laboratory records and documentation.
• Calibrate, verify, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Manage and prioritise a varied and dynamic workload to meet business and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, health and safety procedures, and company policies.

What we are looking for

• A degree in Chemistry, or a science-related degree with a significant chemistry component.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
