Job summary

Our Client in the East Riding of Yorkshire is recruiting a Junior / Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to support the building services team on a range of projects from concept through to construction. You will work alongside experienced engineers, producing electrical design calculations, drawings, and specifications, and you will develop skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.

This is an excellent entry point for recent graduates seeking practical experience in a building

Qualifications

• A degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical building services systems.
• Produce electrical design calculations and technical documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of electrical drawings, schematics and layouts.
• Develop knowledge of lighting, small power, containment and distribution systems.
• Assist with electrical load assessments and equipment selection.
• Support the preparation of specifications, schedules and reports.
• Work with Senior Engineers to develop designs from concept through to detailed design.
• Review drawings and information provided by architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Attend project meetings and, where appropriate, site visits.
• Liaise with other design team members to coordinate electrical services.
• Develop understanding of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
• Support senior engineers with site inspections and construction-stage queries.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

Our Client is an established building services consultancy based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, providing professional mechanical and electrical engineering (MEP) design services across a range of commercial, industrial, residential and public-sector projects.

With the successful outcome of several tendered significant projects, the company is looking to add a talented Junior / Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer at the early stages of their career who is looking to develop their technical skills and gain practical experience within a building services environment

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Engineers and have the opportunity to become involved in projects from initial concept and design through to construction and completion.
