Job summary

Bimplus in Leeds is seeking an Electrical Design Building Services Engineer or Senior Engineer to join our office. You will design electrical building services from concept to construction across education, commercial, healthcare, and residential sectors, with scope for technical development and project responsibility.

The role requires degree qualification in Electrical Building Services, experience in consultancy, proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, Hevacomp/TAS, and knowledge of Part L.

Qualifications

• Electrical Building Services degree or equivalent is required.
• Experience in consultancy/design environment essential.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp or TAS is expected.
• Understanding BIM Level 2 delivery and Part L knowledge.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and challenges in sustainable design.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical building services designs from concept through to construction.
• Carry out feasibility studies and design calculations.
• Prepare specifications, reports, drawings and design documentation.
• Attend client and contractor meetings and coordinate with disciplines.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and QA.

ELECTRICAL DESIGN BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER

Salary:£45,000.00-£55,000.00

Location: Leeds

A well-establishedBuilding Services Engineering Consultancyis seeking an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Leedsoffice.

Projects will involve the application of practical and technical engineering skills within the built environment, working across both new build and refurbishment schemes.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical building services designs from concept through to construction stage
• Carry out feasibility studies and technical design calculations
• Prepare detailed specifications, reports, drawings, and design documentation
• Work across a variety of sectors including education, commercial, healthcare, residential, leisure, and public sector projects
• Undertake site surveys, inspections, and condition assessments where required
• Represent the consultancy at client and contractor meetings
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines
• Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry guidance
• Contribute to sustainable and low carbon design solutions
• Support and mentor junior engineers where applicable
• Assist in design reviews and quality assurance processes
• Maintain project documentation in line with company standards
• Manage workload effectively across multiple concurrent projects
• Assist in fee proposals, bids, and project resource planning
• Support continuous improvement and innovation across design delivery

Requirements

• Electrical Building Services Engineering background (degree qualified or equivalent experience)
• Experience within a consultancy or design environment is essential
• Working towards or already engaged with a professional institution (IET / CEng pathway desirable)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience withAutoCAD and Revit
• Experience withHevacomp / TAS calculation software
• Understanding of BIM Level 2 delivery
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, particularly Part L
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills with a logical engineering approach
• Good understanding of sustainable and low carbon design principles
• Experience attending client meetings and producing technical reports
