Job summary

Our Client in the East Riding of Yorkshire is recruiting a Junior / Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to support the building services team on a range of projects from concept through to construction. You will work alongside experienced engineers, producing electrical design calculations, drawings, and specifications, and you will develop skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.

Qualifications

A degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
An interest in electrical building services design.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A willingness to learn and develop technically.
Excellent attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
A basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and building regulations.
An interest in developing skills in AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design software.

Responsibilities

Assist with the design of electrical building services systems.
Produce electrical design calculations and technical documentation.
Assist with the preparation of electrical drawings, schematics and layouts.
Develop knowledge of lighting, small power, containment and distribution systems.
Assist with electrical load assessments and equipment selection.
Support the preparation of specifications, schedules and reports.
Work with Senior Engineers to develop designs from concept through to detailed design.
Review drawings and information provided by architects, contractors and other consultants.
Attend project meetings and, where appropriate, site visits.
Liaise with other design team members to coordinate electrical services.
Develop understanding of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
Support senior engineers with site inspections and construction-stage queries.
Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
