Cornwall Council is recruiting for an Internal Audit professional to support the delivery of a risk-based audit plan and to gather and analyse evidence across diverse services. You will document controls, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and prepare practical findings for managers.

Qualifications

• Hold, or expect to achieve, a 2:2 degree or above.
• Ability to analyse information, solve problems and reach evidence-based conclusions.
• Clear written and verbal communication tailored to different audiences.

• Build constructive working relationships and contribute to a team.
• Demonstrate integrity, discretion and objectivity, with a focus on internal audit standards.

Responsabilités

• Support the delivery of the Council’s risk-based internal audit plan.
• Gather and analyse evidence, document systems and controls, and identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Help prepare clear, balanced and practical findings for managers.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients across a diverse range of Council services.
• Use digital tools to organise, analyse and present information.
• Apply professional standards, objectivity, sound judgement and confidentiality.
• Take increasing ownership of assignments as knowledge grows.
