Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent.
• Strong Linux knowledge gained through study, projects or work.
• Experience with Python and/or Shell scripting.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in infrastructure, HPC or large-scale computing environments.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
• Exposure to HPC environments, clusters or supercomputing technologies.
• Understanding of CPU/GPU architectures, memory and storage.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with system monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and DevOps practices.
• Awareness of databases and batch scheduling tooling.
• Exposure to parallel file systems and enterprise storage.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of McLaren Racing's HPC infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve hardware, software and system issues.
• Assist with deployment and upgrade of HPC hardware and software.
• Help optimise platform performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Provide Linux guidance to engineering users.
• Monitor system health and contribute to reliability improvements.
• Develop automation and scripting to improve efficiency.
• Learn and evaluate emerging HPC technologies.
