Job summary

BakerHicks in the United Kingdom is launching a 2027 Graduate Engineer - High Voltage (Power) intake. This two-year graduate programme blends engineering design, calculations and project delivery to develop future Chartered High Voltage engineers.

From day one you’ll work on EHV projects up to 400kV, supported by mentoring and structured learning journeys across HV and sustainability disciplines. The programme emphasizes hands-on experience, professional development and a pathway to chartership.

Qualifications

• 2:1 in a relevant engineering degree, such as Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Producing designs, calculations, reports, and drawings for new and modified Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects ranging from 11kV to 400kV.
• Preparing bonding line diagrams, cable rating assessments, induced voltage analyses, short circuit force evaluations, thermo-mechanical thrust calculations, pulling tension assessments, and the development of material specification lists.
• Contributing to health and safety reviews and hazard identification in accordance with the CDM regulations, also focusing on sustainability and environmental compliance.
