Job summary

BakerHicks offers a dynamic two-year Graduate scheme aimed at launching your career as a Chartered High Voltage Engineer. The program blends technical HV training with professional development, personalized on-the-job plans, and hands-on experiences across diverse projects.

You’ll work on EHV designs and safety assessments from day one, with mentorship and exposure to high-profile projects, fostering collaboration and leadership skills for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• 2:1 in a relevant engineering degree (Electrical or Power Engineering).
• Interest in High Voltage Engineering and pursuing professional chartership.

Responsibilities

• Producing designs, calculations, reports and drawings for EHV projects (11kV–400kV).
• Preparing bonding line diagrams, cable rating assessments, induced voltage analyses, short-circuit force evaluations and related material lists.
• Contributing to health and safety reviews and sustainability considerations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Producing designs, calculations, reports, and drawings for new and modified Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects ranging from 11kV to 400kV.
• Preparing bonding line diagrams, cable rating assessments, induced voltage analyses, short circuit force evaluations, thermo‑mechanical thrust calculations, pulling tension assessments, and the development of material specification lists.
• Contributing to health and safety reviews and hazard identification in accordance with the CDM regulations, also focusing on sustainability and environmental compliance.
