Job summary

Stantec UK Careers in Cambridge invites applications for a Graduate Geo-Environmental / Geo-Technical Engineer as part of our 2027 Graduate Programme. You will join a multidisciplinary Environmental Services team and work on UK projects across Infrastructure, Water, Energy and Environmental Services.

Core responsibilities include analysing data, delivering ground investigations, assessing foundations and slope stability, and supporting EIAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences or Environmental Science accredited by a relevant professional body (The Geological Society, ICE, IES, CIWEM).
• Interest in pursuing professional chartership (CGeol, CEng, CSci or CEnv) with appropriate bodies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze geological, geo-environmental and geotechnical data.
• Deliver ground investigations and support EIAs.
• Assess foundations, slope stability and earthworks; create ground models.
• Conduct contaminated land risk assessments and remediation strategies.
• Monitor fieldworks; design/report on foundations, retaining walls and earthworks.
• Use numerical analysis software; collaborate on multidisciplinary design and construction projects.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences or Environmental Science (accredited by a relevant professional body)
