Job summary
Penguin Recruitment Ltd in York is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading environmental and engineering consultancy. This entry-level role is suitable for a recent graduate or candidate with up to one year’s experience and offers exposure to ground investigation, contaminated land, environmental monitoring and technical reporting across the UK.
The role involves soil/rock logging, groundwater monitoring, and supporting Phase I/II assessments, with opportunities for training
Qualifications
- Degree in Geology, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences or related subject.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel across the UK.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Ground investigation or contaminated land experience is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Assist with ground investigations across the UK
- Soil and rock logging
- Groundwater and ground gas monitoring
- Support Phase I and Phase II assessments
- Environmental and geotechnical sampling
- Assist with contaminated land and remediation projects
- Prepare technical reports
- Maintain project records and documentation
- Support data interpretation and client liaison
