Join a forward-thinking firm as a graduate fire engineer, where you'll engage in diverse projects ranging from conceptual fire strategies to landmark developments. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals and apply your engineering knowledge to enhance fire safety in the built environment. You'll be supported in your professional development and encouraged to work towards engineering chartership. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, this role is perfect for those eager to make a meaningful impact in fire safety engineering and contribute to high-profile projects while growing their expertise.
The Opportunity
Our projects are diverse and range from conceptual fire strategy development through to handing over landmark projects, such as the Tate Modern, Macallan distillery, Birmingham New Street Station, and the Eden Project. We undertake fire safety research to develop evidence-based solutions for novel fire safety hazards and strive to find ways to improve safety equity for the most vulnerable. We do this for our clients, in partnership with academia and industry, applying our ‘total fire engineering' approach, allowing us to work on projects from feasibility to operation. We strive to enable a sustainable, resilient built environment, using the latest knowledge and expertise, assisted by our own in-house digital tools and software.
We're looking for graduates to join our team of over 120 talented fire engineers across our UK offices. Your role will encompass all aspects of fire safety engineering, ranging from preparing fire strategies in coordination with the engineering design team to the inspection and assessment of fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings and facilities.
As part of this, you will have the opportunity to liaise with external designers and other construction and building professionals on a wide range of projects, experience and develop your ability to use fire-specific design software, conduct research in various skill groups, and visit sites to monitor the implementation of fire strategies and learn about the installation and construction of fire safety systems. From day one, you'll be given responsibility to help contribute to a range of varied and high-profile clients while being supported in learning about fire engineering and developing as a fire engineer. We encourage all employees to work towards a professional qualification, and you will be given support in this endeavor as well.
