Arup is offering a graduate opportunity for an Environmental Scientist in the UK. You will work with a UK-wide network of specialists, delivering environmental assessments, ground condition studies, and soil/land quality evaluations.
You will contribute to desk studies, reporting, and collaborative project delivery across infrastructure projects while growing through learning opportunities and professional development.
The Land Quality team is a team of Environmental Scientists specialising in geoenvironmental ground conditions. We support major infrastructure and development projects by assessing land quality constraints and opportunities, helping clients manage issues relating to contaminated land, soils, groundwater, agricultural land quality, waste and materials management.
Working closely with colleagues across Arup’s environmental, engineering and planning disciplines, and drawing on expertise from a UK-wide network of specialists, we provide integrated advice throughout the project lifecycle. Our work includes environmental impact assessments, Phase 1 desk studies, ground investigations, land contamination risk assessment, soil resource management, earthworks and materials reuse strategies, and sustainable remediation. We are passionate about protecting and enhancing resources, promoting circular economy principles, and helping clients deliver projects that minimise environmental impacts and maximise long-term environmental solutions.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: A bachelor’s degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Contaminated Land. Earth Sciences (inc. Geology & Oceanography); Ground / Geotechnical Engineering; Land contamination.
