Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering Geology or Geology; MSc or industry experience is a plus.
  • Full UK driving license and own vehicle required.

We require an ambitious Engineering Geologist/Geologist to join our Ground Engineering Team in our Greater Manchester office. You will be involved in an interesting variety of projects across a range of sectors and clients such as property development, infrastructure, mining, local authorities, and waste management to name a few.

The Opportunity:
  • Completion of Phase I ground engineering, contaminated land, mining/geology and desk studies;
  • Act as a Site Engineer or in a supporting role, supervising multiple ground investigation/ground remediation/CQA activities on either short or long duration projects with potential working away from home;
  • Supervision of site works including logging of soils and rock (in accordance with current UK standards);
  • Site monitoring activities to include groundwater sampling and gas monitoring;
  • Specify and supervise in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with UK specifications and current technical standards;
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, and sub-contractors throughout the site work phase;
  • Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety and contract documentation and administration of contracts (including financial control);
  • Geotechnical and Geo-environmental data assessment, analysis, and reporting.
About you:
  • BSc in Engineering Geology, Geology, or similar; MSc or industry experience is advantageous;
  • A full and clean UK driving license and own vehicle;
  • Confidence and knowledge of UK ground investigation techniques; written report writing skills; and computer software skills.
